Please note that we have just moved to a new location on Route 2 in
Middlesex. We are just a quarter mile off of I89, exit 9 (the
Middlesex and Moretown exit). Our address is 961B US Route 2. This is
about 5 miles west of Montpelier, and about the same distance east of
Waterbury. To find us, just take exit 9 off of
I89 and go about a quarter mile east on route 2. You'll see us on the
right (the south side of the road). Map
One of the most exciting aspects of our relocation is our
upcoming cafe. We have hired longtime friend and occasional
"pinch-hitter" (as a baker and farmer's market cashier) Sam Aronson to
be our Retail Manager. Here's Sam's latest update on the progress of
the cafe:
The Return of the Sticky Bun!
You may know that Red Hen Baking Company has moved to a new home in
Middlesex. Now we are nearly ready to debut our new retail store and
café. We know that good things come to those who wait and the wait is
almost over.
Starting on the 21st of December, in the front of the
building, we will be offering a few of the great things to come in the
new retail store and café. Our pastry chef Brad has been working on
some delicious treats, some of which are; brioche a tete, fruit tarts
and croissants. These, as well as our famous sticky buns will all be
available from 7am to 6pm daily. (Closed on Christmas Day) We will have
organic, fair trade, Vermont Coffee Company Coffee to go along with
these delicious treats. Of course we will have many varieties of our
bread for sale as well as panettone, our take on the traditional
Italian, fruited holiday bread. We will also have t-shirts, hats and a
few other gift items for the holidays. Thank you to all who have popped
in for a tour and who have continued to support us by buying our bread
through our exciting transition.
We are thrilled to be in full
production in our new beautiful bakery, come check it out!
